Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, Eh!

By Sarahohm @sarahohm
Hey loveys,
As most of you probably know, this weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving, and yes I'm Canadian. I ate a lot of food and relaxed with my family this weekend. It was a fairly eventful weekend though! C and I drove up to my hometown of Wingham, ON on Saturday morning! Here are some pictures of the drive.. warning, there is a lot of country type scenes..! Haha...

I also took some pictures of the actual town of Wingham when we got there!

There's our 1 Tim Hortons!

This was my first job ever!

Fun, right? Saturday afternoon we headed over to my Aunt Janis's house for Thanksgiving with the Ohm clan! Aunt Janis lives out in the country and has a huge pond in her backyard, so myself, C, and my cousin Jenna and her Husband Jeremy and their kinds Ava and Ella all ventured down to check it out... and then we ended up going canoeing. I was a bit nervous and originally wasn't going to go because I was scared of falling into the water, but once we got there and I saw how pretty it was, I couldn't resist!! Here are some photos :).. obviously I took a million.

Can you see the fishies?? :)

So cousin Jenna and I got our life jackets on and ventured out onto this beautiful pond!

Here's a video C shot of us taking off....

And more photos. I haven't been canoeing in years so I made sure to document it thoroughly.

After Jenna and I got back onto land, her and her family went out!

So much fun!! It was such a beautiful day out. I didn't dress to go canoeing obviously, because I didn't know we were going, so I just went barefoot and rolled up my pants. When in doubt, right? Here are some other random photos from the day!

My sister Brooke

C and I

Cousin Ella

Ava and Ella... not caring about the picture.

Ella is SO little.. lol

Little Ava! Finally! She always refuses photos.

I was actually surprised when I was going through my photos, I didn't take any photos of the food we ate! Aunt Janis made a huge rack of lamb which was DELISH! And there were potatoes and home made gravy and salads and beets and so much food... Cousin Mandy made amazing desserts, there were red velvet balls dipped in vanilla frosting, there was a peanut butter cream pie, there was pumpkin pie, apple pie... SO MUCH FOOD! I ate a lot, not going to lie.
C ended the day in a leaf fight with the two little girlies...

On Sunday we went to Thankgiving on my mom's side of the family. I literally took no photos, and not on purpose! I don't know why it never came up. C wasn't feeling so good as he had come down with some sort of a cold, virus thingy... so I was making sure he felt ok and I was literally just talking with people a lot. That side of the family is huge... my Grandma has 5 Kids, 19 Grandkids and 21 Great Grandkids plus all the in-laws... so there were A LOT of people there. We did drive one of my cousins back to Toronto with us because he lives here!

This is Marc. He plays piano, search him on Youtube under Marc Ellis Piano or something... he's good.

All in all it was a very good weekend! I'm back in Toronto now and about to go have a shower and head into work for a couple of hours to do some stuff I had planned on doing last week but didn't get a chance to! I have a short week this week because of Thanksgiving and a short week next week because I'm taking Wed/Thurs/Fri off! I have 2 really fun events coming next week and can't wait to share them with you!! :) :).
So top 10 things I'm thankful for this Thanksgiving!
1. Family, because my families are kick ass!
2. Friends, who doesn't love friends?
3. My love, because he rubbed my arm in bed for me last night to help me fall asleep. :).
4. Coffee... without it I'm sure I would die.
5. This blog, because I love sharing all my musings with the world!
6. Animals.. I loved seeing Jake and Louie my fur babies, they make me SO happy!
7. Toronto.. my favorite city. I will never leave!
8. My Health.. without it I would be nothing!
9. Best Friends... those few people who are near and dear to your heart in a very special and unique way. My bestie is in Nova Scotia, I miss her.
10. Long weekends... this extra day is literally amazing.
Q: For all my Canadian readers, how was your Turkey day!?! Did you eat too much like me? :)
