Festive season is here again. It brings so much relief and happiness in life, for students it’s a time to get energised for their exam preparations, for service class, it is a much-needed break from their hectic schedules , for business class it is a once in a year opportunity to earn good money in a short span of time.
I feel that it is much more than that, and even greater than worshipping Goddess for goodness and well-being. It is about being together, sharing happiness, and expressing love with family, friends, near and dear ones. It is about a moment that brings glow to your face and makes you smile, when you see the people you love.
With the global development, people are free to move to any place in the world to earn money, get a good job and lead a happy life. With this, the so-called joint family tradition prevalent in ancient India is now slowly getting converted to nuclear family. People with a wish to earn money, in a way they want, move to places so far, and get so engaged in their lives that for years even they do not come back. Sometimes it is time, and sometimes a mundane illusion, keeps them away from meeting the people who love them so dearly.
People well settled in their lives away from their first home, always try to look out an excuse to go back, and we are so lucky to have this periodic excuse in the name of a festival. We say that we go to celebrate festival and be a part of the family tradition, but in our hearts we all know that it is a get together with the family that everybody cherishes.
So, just speak out express your love, make them happy give them gifts, eat sweets, enjoy and have fun with your loved ones. Enjoy every moment of it.
P.S: I would like to make a sweet request to all happy and smiling people, to pledge from this festive season, to not waste food and only take that much in a dish that you can eat.
