It just goes to show that you don't need to study art as an academic subject in order to be a successful artists. Where do you get most of your inspiration from?Mostly fashion, and all the usual girly stuff. I tend to get most of my ideas from magazines and blogs. Sometimes things just catch my eye and I'll want to go and paint it.
Yeah I absolutely love reading blogs and magazines too. So many subscriptions and reading lists! What are your top three favorite websites?I'm always on Pinterest and Tumblr. StumbleUpon is also really good if you are looking for inspiration. You can adjust the search options to your specific interests and end up spending hours on it.
Once your feeling inspired and you've painted a design, what is the process of getting it ready to sell?I sell my prints on canvas paper, so I just get them printed up in batch at a printers in Southampton called Cubik.
It's great that you are able to support local businesses through your work. What would be your dream job?Doing something I love for a living, preferably design/art related and in a beautiful country (not the UK...!)
Do you have any tips for people who are just starting out as an artist?I would have to say to remember that not everyone has the same taste, some people may love your work and others may not. You just have to stick with it, at times you might feel like all your work is rubbish and that you're going nowhere, but your hard work will pay off. When you start receiving complements and kind words from people it really is so rewarding.
I've felt the same at times, but I totally agree that you just need to carry on at what your good at. Do you have any particular bands that you've been listening to lately?I've had Disclosure on repeat for weeks. Oh, and a band called Vacationer who are really good. My music taste is all over the place as you can probably tell from those two bands.
Oh I love Vacationer, so good. Have you been anywhere exciting lately, where is your favorite city? It's not a city, but the best place I have been to has to be Iceland. It's just such an awesome country. Everyone should make sure they go there on their travels.
Iceland wasn't on my to do list, but I may have to make some room now. If you had £500 to spend in 24 hours, what would you do?Honestly? I would spend it on loads of rubbish I don't need and have fun. I'm not one of those super organised people who save all their money.
If you do ever end up getting £500 to spend then let me know. That sounds fun! Do you have any plans for your artwork in the future? At the moment, absolutely none! I'm just going with the flow of things, and just seeing where life takes me at the moment. I would really love to go travelling, I need to make sure that happens.
That's all! Thank you, now just a few quick fire Q's...
Cat or dog? Dog, always!Magazine or blog?
BlogSweet or sour?
Neither. I'm not really fussed on sweet or sour things. I would be awkward and choose savory. Hot or cold?
HotDaddy or chips?
...is this an inside joke that I'm not aware of yet? It's from the TV advert for McCains chips from the 80/90's! Although, I was born in 1990 so not quite sure how I remember it.If you want to keep up to date with all the exciting things Hannah is doing then make sure you follow her on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram.
