Having worked as a set designer and window display stylist, I'm over the moon with this installation by London-based design firm Studio Xag, knowf for their incredigle art direction, sets and display projects. As part of the London Design Festival, in collaboration with the University of the Arts, they created this whimsical exhibition called Hands On. “We imagined a party in a shoebox, transformed into a period drawing room, complete with giant matchbox table and huge articulated hands making the finishing touches to the scene. We made everything in craft materials, mainly cardboard & paper to differentiate our work from that of the designers & artists featured”, they explain. The final product is an incredibly smart space full of amazing details and wit. If you want to take a peek and find out what it took to accomplish this fun project go here.
