Halo 5: Guardians has officially gone gold, 343 Industries studio head Josh Holmes has announced. The game is now well on track for its October 27 release date.
In addition to confirming the game is entering manufacturing, Holmes also detailed a pre-launch update.
"We will have a multiplayer content update, prior to launch, that will supplement the online multiplayer goodness with map content for Arena Multiplayer and our all new massive-scale 12v12 Warzone Multiplayer," wrote Holmes.
Xbox One users who have their system set to "Instant On" will see the update automatically download so you're ready to go at launch. If you're picking up a retail copy the Xbox One will download the online multiplayer update automatically after you install the game.
Those who pre-order on the Xbox Store will be able to pre-download from next week.
"Of course launch is just the beginning," adds Holmes. "Our dedicated live team will be focused on supporting the game with monthly releases of new content and experiences... such as new REQ content and more than 18 free multiplayer maps."
