Hair at Hershesons

By Annamoss84 @missanniebean
I do love to be pampered, I mean what girl doesn't?!  I was kindly invited to go and get my hair done before I went to the London Bloggers Party and so I snapped up the chance.  I was off to Hershesons Blow Dry Bar in London Selfridges and I could not wait!  After hearing such positive things I was dying to have a new creation to my locks.

Morning mop of hair!

I got up really early after a night out for the boy's birthday celebrations, jumped on the train and began my trek to London.  My hair was a fluffy mess but to be honest I didn't care as I knew it was going to be fixed.

After flying via Starbucks at St Pancras and short diversion via Topshop, I headed through the Beauty department of Selfridges.  Now I always get a bit anxious in Selfridges because I feel like I'm not good enough to be in there... do you know what I mean? I can't afford the gorgeous brands and I feel like a fish out of water, but I was hoping this experience would change my opinion.
I headed over the the beauty counter where I was greeted by a chirpy girl, she escorted me to where my hair was to be washed and handed me a Hershesons blow dry menu.
I had already browsed the styles on their website but me being little miss indecisive, I still hadn't made any sort of executive decision.

Carlam

As I continue to flip the pages to and fro I was then greeted by the wonderful Nicholas who was my hair stylist.  Immediately complimenting me on my dress we started then to discuss my options.  He suggested the Alexa Chung inspired hair style as it would suit the outfit I was wearing.

After washing my hair he began to style it.  He used Kérastase products which he highly recommended.  Make sure you look for Spray Á Porter and Forme Fatale - I can't fault them.  The spray gave great beach style texture, whilst the other provided extensive volume.  I had copious amounts of volume from a combination of back brushing and these key products and even though we used products it didn't look or feel awful, in fact it was the polar opposite. All this  followed by side french plaits and voila, my hair was complete!
The entire way through Nicholas made the look feel effortless and extremely easy - however I don't think I could do this myself.  One major plus point was the fact my hair length wasn't a problem, I was under the impression you needed long hair in order to have one of these styles done but you really don't.  Nicholas adapted the style so it would work for my length and personally I was extremely impressed!

When I left the Hershesons Blow Dry Bar I felt amazing. When I was walking anywhere I could feel eyes on me wondering how I'd managed such a creation!  When I finally got to the London Bloggers Party I kept getting compliments on how cute the style looked - winner!
One thing I did ask Nicholas about was the wall of false hair (see picture at the top of this post).  He then showed me in the booklet that you can match your hair with the false hair and they can clip it in and create fishtail plaits for £60. The bonus is you actually cannot tell they're fake! Ideal for girls like me who would love to create that style but don't have the length.
I had non stop compliments afterwards. As corny as it sounds Nicholas made me feel fantastic about myself, he kept me at ease and we chatted away quite happily.  To get your hair done at Hershesons it costs £35 and there are a number of styles to chose from:
1. Carlam 2. The Big and Brushed 3. The B-52 4. Ragabilly 5. The Wavy Gravy 6. Smooth Wavy 7. Half + Half 8. The Classic 9. The Bardot 10. The Superstraight 11.  Swank 12. The 15 Minute Blow Dry
If I hadn't had the one I selected I would of gone for the Bardot look.  This entire concept is a fab idea if you have a big event or a special occasion, plus the beauty of this Hershesons blow dry bar is its even open until 10pm.
