With 22 days left in this year, there have been 41,581 gun violence deaths and 623 mass shootings in the United States.
That's inexcusable, and it doesn't happen in any of the rest of the developed world. It happens only because of the proliferation of guns in the country -- and the refusal of Congress to pass any sensible (and constitutional) gun laws.
Sadly, thanks to the Republican control of the House of Representatives (and the filibuster in the Senate), nothing will be done in the next two years to control gun violence. They won't even plug the loopholes in the background check law, which is supported by over 80% of the population.
Prepare yourself for the country to have 80,000 to 90,000 more gun deaths and over 1,300 mass shootings in the next two years. It doesn't have to happen, but it will.
Republicans have blood on their hands, and that won't change!
