By Erika Brechtel @smallshopstudio

Please welcome Sarah of High Styling!

Today I am so happy to introduce a newbie to the blog world! Sarah is a styling and staging genius with a clean aesthetic and sophisticated eye that shines so clearly through her posts and photos. (Did you happen to catch her shots of Lake Como? Oh my!) She has been quickly gaining a following and no wonder — check out her office below and major stylin’ skills!

Hello lovely Blog Shop readers! I am beyond excited to be guest posting for Erika, especially since she was a huge influence on me when deciding to start my own blog. I am delighted to say she’s also the nicest and most supportive person I have had the pleasure to meet in blog land. Not to mention she’s ridiculously talented and insanely stylish, as you all know.

In trying to keep things original, I decided to share some snaps of my home office and my interpretation of high style.

Since moving into a small lease house recently, I’ve had to get creative with space planning.
My new office space now shares the formal living room with the dining room. Think… cozy.

It is still very much my space, just cleaner; no more closing the door to a messy office!
Living smaller has it’s advantages I’ve discovered.

Obviously function come first, but I think it’s so important when decorating a space to be creative in, that you surround yourself with things that are meaningful and inspirational; the stuff that makes you feel good.

Almost everything I have in my little office space has a wonderful memory attached to it. Some are mementos from world travels, some are gifts from loved ones, or treasures past down from family that has moved on. There are thrift store snags that lived a life before me scattered amongst art I love, and travel, photography, and design books. All of which are continuously being shifted and rotated for new perspective. I like change…

For me, high style isn’t about having the most exclusive or expensive decor, it’s about surrounding myself with beauty and memories that inspires me to live a more meaningful life. Deep, right?! Ommmm.

So what does ‘high style’ mean to you? What do you surround yourself with for inspiration?

Thank you Erika for having me, It is such an honor to share a little piece of my world with your lovely readers.
