By Erika Brechtel @smallshopstudio

Please welcome Emily & Morgan of Glitterati!

Let’s take a break from all of the holiday hoopla, and look at pretty pictures of blissful days, shall we? Emily and Morgan recently launched their wedding and events company here in So. Cal. with a big bang! All of you entrepreneurs out there, you will want to check out their website and their press kit. Kudos, ladies! And today they bring us a wedding trend watch for 2012 that makes me wish I could plan my wedding all over again (well maybe someone else’s wedding anyway!)…

WEDDING STYLING TRENDS TO WATCH

Hi Small Shop readers! We are the girls from Glitterati Events in Los Angeles and we are so excited Erika is having us do a guest blog post today! What we love most about event planning is that we get to combine our passion for interior design, fashion and fabulous parties and roll it all into one awesome job. Events really follow the trends of fashion and design, and it’s so fun to watch how runway style and décor trends trickle down to wedding and event styling. We view weddings as a celebration of true love and a statement of your personal style! So without further ado, here are some of our favorite and latest wedding trends! Enjoy! xoxo Emily & Morgan

• Fun with Color Schemes •
No more boring color schemes for weddings. Brides have the whole rainbow to choose from—and they can use as many or as few hues as they want! Monochromatic and ombre and colorblocking, oh my!

• Retro Elegance •
With a nod to the style trends of the past, popular shows like Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire have inspired many a wedding theme. So chic.

• Bold Bridal Makeup •
Lots of brides are saying bye-bye to simple and sweet makeup, opting for a more dramatic and eye-catching look on their big day. Color us impressed.

• Illusion Necklines & Lace Sleeves •
Due largely in part to the breathtaking beauty that was Kate Middleton on her wedding day, the illusion neckline is going to be a huge trend for brides in 2012. Lace sleeves on bridal gowns will also be coming back in a big way. So classy, so elegant. Now if only we could all find a prince…

• Destination/Staycation Weddings •
More and more we are finding brides are not sticking to the traditional “I want to get married in my hometown” way of thinking.  A lot of our brides are opting for a destination wedding that is close to home.  This allows their guests and family to have a mini-get-away and allowing the party to last through the weekend!

The most popular destination for our LA and OC Brides…Palm Springs!
