Rockstar’s long-awaited return to Grand Theft Auto has been made public by a GTA 6 worker, who revealed new information about the game’s features and confirmed that there will be a PC version.

Rockstar released the first video for GTA 6 in December 2023, and players have been eager to learn more ever since. The game is still set to come out in the fall of 2025.

There have been a few leaks from current and past workers, including one who said the game’s realism will “blow people away.” The studio hasn’t said much about the leaks.

Fans have now found Ryan Woods’ LinkedIn page. Woods is a Principal Engine Programmer at Rockstar, and his bio tells players a lot about what to expect when GTA VI comes out.

Woods was in charge of designing, building, and improving the game’s RAGE engine, which was in his job description.

“This includes making sure the engine can work with both models and open worlds by taking care of memory, AI, graphics, and physics.”

He went on “Lead efforts to profile and improve performance, pushing the edges of real-time graphics and processing to keep things running smoothly on PCs and next-generation consoles, among other systems.”

At this point, GTA 6 has only been announced for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. A PC version was probably going to come later, but this should ease PC users’ fears that they might not get the game at all.

GTA 6 Engine Details Revealed

The article also talks about how the engine has new technologies, like random generation for items and game settings, that will make the game more realistic.

Patents had been used to talk a lot about GTA 6’s technology in the past.

One of them said  “randomly make the inside of buildings look different based on what kind of building the player is in.”

Some examples showed how kitchen walls, cabinets, chairs, and beds can be changed to make new plans with their own color schemes and styles of furniture.

The tech also said that characters will react to events in the world in their own unique ways and act a lot more like real people.

We need to see what this does to GTA 6 and whether these changes are mainly for development reasons or to totally change how the game is played.

Anyway, GTA 6 is still set to come out in the fall of 2025, so it shouldn’t be too long before a second video comes out with more details.
