Starting the week as I mean to go on....ORGANISED!!
Like many people, I suspect, I have a running to-do list in my head, not of the urgent day to day stuff which I have to get done or else....it's the letters to write, emails to send, the catching up, finishing books, getting in touch, attending a yoga class, getting back to the gym, and so on & so on....a list of things-that-I-want-to-do-but-never-seem-to-get-round-to-doing.
Does the fact that that they remain on my list week after week mean that I don't want to do them?
I think not....it just says that I am slightly lazy easily distracted procrastinator who is very good at talking herself in (or out) or all kinds of stuff!
But these are the kinds of things that, in the wee small hours of the night, come back to me & I wonder why it is I still haven't done them....they do matter to me, they are important &, if I did them, I'd have time to do other stuff & plan & think about lots of other things....which I might get around to doing or not ;)
Clearing my mind, freeing up some brain space, getting stuff done.
So, here's my 10-things-I-will-most-definitely-be-doing-this-week. Without question. Come hell or high water.
1. Dig my juicer out from the back of the cupboard. Start using it!2. Read & clear my pile of newspaper/magazine articles3. Go to the gym4. Email my friend J5. Finish "The Miniaturist" (last month's book club read)6. Start "The Girl on the Train" (this month book club read)7. Empty my inbox8. Make an appointment for my annual doctor's check-up9. Clear my diary & book a train ticket to Cardiff for a visit alone10. Paint/makeover a bookcase & fill with books (which have been in a suitcase for way too long)
and one for luck,11. Bake for my children after school, haven't been doing much of this lately.
