Greyjoy’s Super Sweet Synth Sounds [stream]

Majestic synth pop from a band whose name is from Game of Thrones, anyone? The appropriate answer is obviously “hell, yes,” at which point you should indulge in handfuls of Greyjoy. The Perth-based duo will make you dance like a fool to their fantasy-inducing synth pop — fit for trippy, hot days when you just don’t want to do anything at all. Not to mention, “Idle Thoughts”, which you can stream above, has some instrumental pop interludes that will make you pause just long enough to say “hot damn, this is good!” Then there’s “Distance”, a wistful rock tune that floats on fuzzy synths and clean guitars for an undeniably sweet sound. It’s audible cotton candy.

Greyjoy are self-releasing their debut EP on July 23, and with the deft arrangements and crispy, smart texturing heard on these two tracks, we can’t wait to get our hands on the rest.
