By Beliteweight @BeLiteWeight

Not all of your diet friendly meals have to be bland and boring with no flavor. You can still have juicy, tasty, and even spicy foods that won’t negatively affect your diet or healthy living choices and this particular recipe is proof of that. If you’re in the mood for something spicier than celery sticks, then this green chile cheeseburger is going to be right up your alley.

Combining together high quality sirloin or brisket, fresh chiles, tomato, and onions along with fat free cheese, this recipe is going to make your mouth water and will sure be a hit with even the entire family. Altogether, the green chile cheeseburger is only 320 calories with eleven grams of fat compared those numbers to a cheeseburger from a fast food joint or even a steakhouse.

Here are all the ingredients you will need. This will make about four servings.

  • One pound of sirloin or brisket
  • Dashes of salt and pepper for taste
  • 4 ounces of green chiles, drained and chopped
  • Four slices of Swiss cheese
  • Four potato buns, preferably low fat
  • Four slices of tomato
  • Four slices of red onion

And here’s how to make the green chile cheeseburgers for yourself:

  • Heat up the grill or you can use a stovetop with a grill pan. Next, season the beef with the salt and pepper and create four patties out of the meat. Start to cook the burger patties for about three to four minutes until nicely charred. Then, immediately flip over the patties and top them with a tablespoon of chiles and a slice of Swiss cheese. Tomatoes and red onion are included on last.
  • You can also toast the buns beforehand for an extra boost of flavor and even add in lettuce for crispness once the patties have cooled down.
