Great Divide Brewery Brunch at EDGE

By Colorado Beer Girl @colobeergirl

EDGE Restaurant & Bar recently teamed up with Great Divide Brewing Company to create Brewery Brunch, an ongoing event every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at EDGE. Brewery Brunch features a rotating selection of bottomless Great Divide beers. Last weekend the select drafts were Rumble IPA, Colette Farmhouse Ale and Nomad Pilsner. Guests can stick with the same beer, or try them all. And to sweeten the deal, you get to keep the pint glass! Additionally, bottomless mimosas, bloody marys and marias are also offered.

Scrambled egg whites with spinach, mushrooms, & Haystack Mountain goat cheese (normally also has tomatoes but I omitted them).

I had never been to EDGE before, as it’s well known for its steaks, and as a vegetarian I wasn’t sure there would be much I could eat. But being a big fan of Great Divide, of course I had to check out this new brunch. I was pleased to find an egg white scramble with veggies and goat cheese, and I thought a Rumble Oak Aged IPA would pair well with it. It certainly did; the combination of oak flavor and goat cheese complemented each other nicely.

Chef Kelley Schmidt puts the finishing touches on an order of chicken & waffles.

My guest chose the lemon ricotta pancakes and a Colette (which I had to try myself), and that was another winning combination. The farmhouse ale really brought out the lemony characteristics of the pancakes. So needless to say, there are definitely vegetarian options. The menu is comprised of sections titled “Be Friendly,” and consists of shared appetizers, “Be Good,” which includes the two entrees we had, plus salads and seafood dishes, and “Be Bad,” with items such as biscuits & gravy, burgers, and chicken & waffles.

EDGE likes to keep things local. In addition to partnering with a Denver brewery, the restaurant uses local ingredients whenever possible, such as Haystack Mountain Goat Cheese and Tender Belly Bacon. Those who like brunch and beer will enjoy Brewery Brunch. On Sundays, Great Divide has reps on hand to talk to guests about the company, the beers, and more. Stop in soon for a fun, delicious brunch!
