As we previously wrote about in Gray & Wade’s engagement session a few days before their wedding, Gray and Wade fell in love on the dance floor at his sister’s wedding. They’ve been dancing together ever since and with no care of the Tennessee summer heat, they and their friends danced the night away now at their own wedding. A few times I watched Wade completely pick up his bride and twirl her and her dress in the air around the dance floor. One of those times Gray turned to me and said “Now you see why I married him!”
We loved traveling to Tennessee to shoot this outdoor nature wedding. With the sprawling fields and horse farm in the background, it was such an amazing change of scenery to document through our camera. With Gray’s love of horses growing up on a horse farm, she wanted a wedding that reflected her outdoor nature. ”I’m more of a kick your heels off and go barefoot kind of girl,” she told us during the engagement session. So on her wedding day, you saw her in flats until she finally did kick off even those shoes to dance the night away.
But what I loved most about this wedding day was the absolute emotion behind many of these photos. Every time I turned the corner, Gray was crying even more tears of joy, and my eyes watered with her seeing how truly happy she was on this day she has waited so long for. She has been used to capturing other bride’s wedding days as a wedding photographer herself. But today… she was no longer the photographer, she was the bride and she felt so honored to be marrying the man of her dreams. And you saw that in every tear that fell throughout the day.
