Graphics Don’t Make a Brand

By Linsibrownson @CleverSpark

Once upon a time there was this entrepreneur. Her name was Ellen. She was ready to go like gangbusters with her new design business.

She’d tell everyone about it.

After.

After she got her logo. Yes. Of course she needed a logo. Her business simply couldn’t be like “for reals” without it.

So she went to a website that created all sorts of things for five dollars.

This was going to be the mother-effin best five bucks she ever spent!

So she found a person and sent them her five bucks and waited for her logo.

A lot was riding on this logo. This was going to be her online identity.

About a week later she received this monstrosity.

Ellen got “sad face”.

It wasn’t her at all. And it was fugly as hell.

How was she supposed to put this on her business cards, her website, her everything?

Ellen was counting on this image to make her brand mean something.

What’s the moral of the story?

A graphic doesn’t make a brand.

What to do?

If you’re serious about your business, why not spend a few hundred bucks and brainstorm your business branding? Then get the graphics.
