Grape Solar Offers 4 Photovoltaic Systems Through Costco

A recent email from Costco containing weekly specials advertised four different photovoltaic systems from Grape Solar. As advertised, the systems (ranging from 880 watts to 5060) come complete with mounting brackets and inverters.

For example, the smallest system (880 watts) includes:

  • 4 Grape Solar CS-220-DJ 220W Poly-Si Panels
  • 4 Enphase M190 Microinverters: CSA listed per UL 1741/IEE1547; increase energy harvest by as much as 25% compared to systems with tradition inverters
  • 1 set roof mounted racking system: Supports 4 Grape Solar 220W panels with 85 mph wind load

Required items not included:

  • Enphase Energy EKIT for Enphase microinverter installation. 1 EKIT can support up to 15 panel/inverter combinations (Costco Item #573709)
  • Outdoor Grade AC Branch Circuit Junction Box
  • AC Disconnects (Consult your licensed electrician)

Warranty Information:

  • Solar Panels: 25 years power output warranty, 10 year material and workmanship warranty
  • Inverter: 10 year warranty
  • Racking: 10 year warranty

Depending on a home’s electrical consumption and the energy generated by the photovoltaic system, these packages can produce anywhere from 60 to nearly 1000 kilowatt hours. Here are the specific ranges of electricity generation for each system:

  • The Grape Solar 880Watt Grid-Tied PV Kit can generate the amount of power equivalent to the energy consumption of a 15 Cu Ft refrigerator.
  • The Grape Solar 2300Watt Grid-Tied PV Kit can generate roughly one-third of the electrical power consumption of an average 1200SF home. This kit has 10 panels that require 180 square feet of roof space.
  • The Grape Solar 3680Watt Grid-Tied PV Kit can generate about half of the electrical power consumption of an average 1200SF home. This system consists of 16 panels and takes up 288 square feet of roof space.
  • The Grape Solar 5060Watt Grid-Tied PV Kit can generate approximately 72% of the electrical power consumption of an average 1200SF home. It requires 396 square feet of roof space and is made up of 22 panels.

All of these photovoltaic systems are eligible for federal, state and local utility rebate and incentive programs.
