Grammar Friday

By Pjfaur @peterfaur

Today’s two grammar tips:

  • If a compound noun has a main noun in it, make it plural by adding “s” to the main noun. The plural of “father in law” is “fathers in law.” The plural of “attorney general” is “attorneys general.” The plural of “run batted in” is “runs batted in.”
  • If a compound noun has no main noun in it, add the “s” at the end. The plural of “follow-up” is “follow-ups.” The plural of “trade-in” is “trade-ins.”
