-11.2 million viewers watched the final hole of the US Open on FOX. I'm not even a golf fan but I watch golf tournaments to hear people yell "Baba Booey" I'm betting 25% of the viewers who tuned in are Howard fans. It's the only explanation.
THE SHOWS
My son graduated from middle school last night, so not much TV was consumed. Plus there wasn't much on at all. We watched a little Godfather, some Pretty in Pink, John Oliver and Botched. Not much of anything really. Thankfully, Big Brother and Suits start tomorrow. Finally some Summer TV worth typing about. Alaskan Bush People
I don't know how many of you guys really look at the ratings info I post everyday. I'm a numbers junkie. Whether I love or hate Nielsen, I still enjoy the numbers. That being said, did you catch how many people watched the Alaskan Bush People on Friday night? 3.8 millllllion people are as obsessed with the Brown family as I am. I'm not saying you should blow off Friday night cocktails or anything, but you NEED to watch this show. I can't even imagine living a minute of the Brown's life. I just can't, but they seem to be happy traveling 3 hours by boat in the freezing cold to clean out a van full of chicken poop just to get some chickens and then travel 3 hours back home by boat with the chickens. Every single thing they do is so incredibly difficult and yet so incredibly simple. They live in the bush off the grid and spend all their time just surviving. I have a hard time understanding why they've chosen this life, they didn't come from it, they specifically went out of their way to live it. I have a million questions for them if I ever meet them. Best episode ever was Bear going on a blind date and trying to get the girl to climb a tree. What girl is going to want to bag her nice warm house and go live off the grid in the bush where you have to pee outside in below zero temperatures and spend every moment with this family and there gnarly teeth? It's worth watching just for that isn't it?
THE OTHER STUFF
-Jimmy Kimmel's at it again. This time it's Fathers Day and Jimmy's YouTube challenge was to serve your Dad breakfast in the shower. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzn4CmzfLds-NBC cancelled Hannibal after 3 seasons for anyone who cares. Just curious, any mention of fava beans and a nice Chianti?
-The Fosters is pulling a Darren Stevens (and anyone that has a clue on that reference gets a few extra bonus points) For you younguns, call it an Aunt Viv and get some bonus points. I stopped watching The Fosters because Jesus and his six pack went off to boarding school and never came back, but now he's being replaced by another actor who hopefully has been eating right and doing a million crunches otherwise, I'm afraid a new Jesus just won't do.
Tuesday's Trivia Question: Name as many graduates of California University as you can. (Hint, this too is a fictional college)
