By Eleni Balkouli @Love4Wed

White-washed houses, extraordinary volcanic beaches and magical sunset – it’s no wonder Santorini is one of the most favorite destination wedding locations in the world! Macey and Stephen decided to seal their love in this beautiful Greek island and have an intimate, elegant wedding. The incredible venue that hosted both ceremony and reception was decorated perfectly with olive leaves, tulle curtains and gold, shiny details. We fell in love with the blush wedding dress that make the gorgeous bride look just like a princess. Get inspired by this golden beauty through the following images by Aaron Delaney Photography!

The bride shared with us: “Stephen proposed last summer in New York City. I had just placed second in my first fitness competition and when I came off stage we were taking photos together and he turned and got down on one knee. I started crying even though I swore I wouldn’t, and it was all very magical.”

“The ceremony took place in Santorini, Greece at Dana Villas. We would have most likely gone to Santorini for our honeymoon and we decided that we didn’t really want a large wedding. It was kind of a joke when I suggested to get married in Greece, and somehow everything just fell into place, so it seemed like a sign that we just had to do it there.”

“Santorini is so beautiful already that we decided to go very simple with our wedding. We had one flower centrepiece with just white flowers and greenery. On our reception table we had olive leaves down the middle with a gold table runner. We felt the scenery was enough and we didn’t want to take away from that natural beauty.”

“My bouquet was white flowers with greenery. I wanted to stick to the simple and natural theme we had going already with the rest of our decor. Besides for the table runner and one flower centrepiece, we had no decoration. Dana Villas is a beautiful venue with amazing views overlooking the caldera, so we felt that was more than enough decor for us.”

“For me, I loved taking all the photos together after the wedding. It was so nice to get to spend that time alone after all the craziness of getting ready and having all eyes on us during the ceremony. Stephen says his favorite part was saying, “I do.” A highlight from our wedding day was our vows. We both wrote our own vows and they turned out to be almost identical. We couldn’t stop laughing through my vows once we realized how similar they were. I love the photos captured of us laughing because now that moment is saved forever.”

“My wedding dress is from White Lace and Promises in Knoxville, TN. It is a ballgown style in a gorgeous blush color. The top was mesh covered in beads and stones. The bottom was very flowy and had layers that made for stunning photos! I couldn’t have found a more perfect dress in the world!”

Advice to a bride-to-be: “Do what you want to do even if others don’t approve. We got mixed reactions when we announced our wedding location and not all of the reactions were positive. In the end, we were so happy with our decision and so were all of our guests. As a bride, you know what feels right so it is really important to just trust your gut and go with what makes the both of you happy.”
