Google Pixel 4 Vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 10: Which One to Buy?

Posted on the 25 October 2019 by Katy Perry
2019 has been the year of amazing smartphone launches. This year, we saw a launch of the first foldable phone as well. Well, the smartphone industry never disappoints you. After the Apple iPhone launch, it was time for Google to unveil the new Pixel. Pixel new series is packed with a lot of interesting features and specifications. However, today, we are going to talk about Google Pixel 4 and the nearest competitor Samsung Galaxy Note 10.

On one side we have an award-winning smartphone – Samsung Galaxy Note 10 which has been awarded one of the best phones of 2019 by CNET’s editor choice and has a price mark of $950 and on the other hand the new Google Pixel 4 which comes with an attractive price of $800 and provides impressive camera claims and innovative new motion-control software.

Let us see how these smartphone stands when compared to various technical factors that will help you decide which one to go for this year.

DESIGN

Samsung Note 10 is the clear winner when it comes to design. The sleek body shape with a glossy finish at the backbeats the brick style Pixel 4 design. There is a significant design upgrade on the new Pixel 4. However, it can not stand against the modern Samsung desing.

DISPLAY

The all-new Google Pixel 4 boasts the 5.7inch array with a 90hz refreshing option to make your screen experience faster and smoother. However, this might result in draining the battery faster, and you won’t be able to notice the speed significantly.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 comes with a larger display of 6.3inch and is thinner than the Pixel. We feel, getting a 90hz feature can’t be the deciding factor for your purchase.

PHONE UNLOCK FEATURE

One thing we think that Google Pixel 4 has offered beautifully is the face unlock feature. It is smart and quick. However, Samsung Note 10 offers an on-screen fingerprint sensor which is quite old-school and hampers the display gradually.

NOTE STYLUS vs GOOGLE GESTURES

Well, we wanted to cover these features as these are the essential differentiator as well for both the brands. Samsung Galaxy Note offers the signature Note Stylus, and Google Pixel 4 offers the quirks of gesture.

We feel the stylus is something that makes a Note a Note. An improvised and smooth experience that lets you do wonders with your smartphone. On the other hand, Google Pixel 4 offers smart gestures like hand motion to click pictures, stop a call etc. They also provide some advance gestures but are not applicable for daily use.

CAMERA FACE-OFF

Google Pixel 4 is packed with 2 powerful camera at the back with telephoto capabilities, and  Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is packed with 3 cameras at the back featuring 1 wide-angle lens. However, when it comes to delivering amazing pictures, Google Pixel 4 takes it away from the Note 10. Well, Google has always been better when it comes to the camera.

So, Pixel 4 certainly delivers excellent performance with its camera setup.

THE ANDROID ADVANTAGE

The great thing about Google is Android updates. Google phones are first to get the latest updates, and that is a cool thing. So, Google Pixel 4 comes with an Android 10 straight out as it is the newest update. However, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is on Android 9.

Below are the detailed specification comparisons.

Conclusion!

Okay, the tough call to make here. We feel that Google Pixel offers amazing specs at that price range and if you want best camera performance and Google software upgrades as the key thing then Google Pixel 4 is made for you.

However, if you are someone who is looking to own a slightly premium looking smartphone, we would recommend Samsung Galaxy Note 10 as it is beautiful when it comes to desing, comes with a stylus and the wide-angle lens is the icing on the cake.
