Sydney: The Australian court ordered Google to pay $ 715,000 ($ 515,000) to former senior parliament members on Monday after finding that the Youtube commentator “without stopping, racist, vilificatory, rude and slandered” led him to quote politics prematurely.
The Federal Court found that Alphabet Inc’s Google, which has a website sharing YouTube content, obtained thousands of dollars by accommodating two videos that attacked the Deputy Minister of the State South South Wales in Australia which was seen nearly 800,000 times since it was posted at the end lately 2020.

Video by the Political Commentator Jordan Shanks questioned the integrity of parliamentary members, John Barilaro, including labeling him “corrupt” without evidence, and calling him racist names “no less than hate speech”, judge, Steve Rares, told the court.

When Barilaro came out of politics in October 2021, it was because he “traumatized by the Google and Mr. Shanks campaign and … that caused him to leave public offices prematurely,” said Rares.

I find Google’s behavior in this process inappropriate and cannot be justified.”

A Google spokesman is not immediately available to be asked for comments.

A spokesman for Shanks, who was the defendant along with Google until he and Barilaro reached last year’s settlement, were not immediately available for comments.
