After what time is on the internet, and someone somewhere will build an ad profile for you – even your cellphone does it. Google has long let you reset the ad ID on Android, but last year it began to allow it on Android 12 to completely delete it. You don’t have to be on the latest OS longer. In April this year, Google will create the same option available for all phones through the Google Play service update.
This option is available under Google entries in the system settings. Sub-menu “Ads” includes the option to reset your ID or delete it completely, which only replaces it with a zero string. That way, anyone targeting ads using the Google tool will no longer see you as a unique individual who likes ankle socks, ceramic clowns, and churro (or whatever you like). Of course, this will make the ad you see on your device less relevant. Application that requires a unique ID for something other than advertising can still do it with an ID set.
Along with the expanded removal option, Google changes the way the application is to declare permission. Unfortunately, changes permissions only apply to Android 12 and later, but the application is the application must make a list com.google.android.gms.permission.ad_id. This will not be permitted in the application intended for children. It basically means no more official advertising targeting google. We don’t have a definite date for this, but as a GMS tweak, it might run gradually for weeks. Enforcement of permits for child-friendly applications starts on April 1.
