CNN reports that cyber forensics experts at the University of Massachusetts have figured out a way to use the recording feature on Google Glass (the eyeglasses with a camera on them) to steal people’s passwords from other electronic devices.
A Google spokesperson was quoted as saying:
“The fact that Glass is worn above the eyes and the screen lights up whenever it’s activated clearly signals it’s in use and makes it a fairly lousy surveillance device.”
3 Other Lousy Surveillance Devices
1. Glasses that watch people type their PIN numbers, and then announce the results like lottery numbers being drawn on television.
2. Glasses that light up the entire wall like a film projector to show what you just recorded to everybody in Starbucks.
3. X-Ray Specs ordered from an old comic book. Contrary to advertising, they apparently do not see through clothing, but may give you the look of a pervert who is surveilling someone, if you think that kind of thing is in fashion.
