Reports are now spreading all over the web about a new Google project which involves their recently acquired mobile company, Motorola. According to these reports, both Google and Motorola are now secretly working on a new smartphone, which refers to as “X Phone,” to take on the Apple’s latest iPhone 5 and Samsung’s Galaxy S III.

This report comes from the most trusted source on the Internet, The Wall Street Journal . Their sources have confirmed this device to be a “sophisticated handset”, and infer it could be released next year. WSJ also points out that after this alleged X Phone, Google might also think about releasing a X tablet as well.

Motorola’s Droid lineup became one of the most successful device line ups of this year. And with this new partnership with Google they may have a clear chance of making a better smartphone to rival the top companies such as Apple and Samsung. Although, it’s still too soon for Google to release another phone as they’ve just launched the new Nexus 4 with LG. So, we can’t expect to see this alleged X Phone at the MWC 2013. Hopefully it will be unveiled before the end of next year.
