I hate to jinx it, but I think it's safe to say the winter weather has left the south and it isn't coming back. We had a few days of a cold front last week but looking at the forecast, it's looking promising. 70s and 80s... that I can do.
We've been spending a lot of time outside and even busted out the water table the other day. And actually had to come inside because it was too warm and we weren't wearing sunblock. The babies love to play in the backyard and I love that they have the space to do that now.
Z has had off the past two days and we've done everything from turning our swing set into a water slide, chalking masterpieces and getting ice cream. It seriously feels like summer and I cannot believe it's only March!
I love the warm weather, but I hate the humidity. See that top knot? That's pretty much what my hair will be doing from now until November when the humidity finally takes a hike. It was warm in Ohio but this southern humidity is something I'm not sure I'll ever get used to.
But just because the weather is starting to warm up, doesn't mean the mornings aren't chilly. I mean, I don't want to wear shorts first thing in the morning (just yet), and there's still a need for a light jacket or vest until mid-morning/early afternoon. I've worn this vest about a billion times and yes, it's a little eccentric and yes, I love it. I was/am afraid of it looking too bulky and "too much" sometimes, so to avoid that, I try to keep the shirt underneath and accessories fairly simple.
You've seen this Piko top before and I still standby the fact that it's absolutely essential for spring. It's light and airy, and is super flattering on all body types. It's long enough to be worn with leggings and can be worn with jeans too. Although I won't be able to wear it when it gets super warm, it's perfect for the chilly days (and by chilly, I mean like 60s ;))..
I'm off to get pedicures today with some of my girls. Which is MUCH needed, considering it's officially flip flop season! Woo! Have a great day friends :)
