Good Morning! What Are You Eating?

By Nutrisavvy

Breakfast! It’s an important meal to start your day. And surely you know by now many reasons why but I’ll list just a few:

  • Energize
  • Prevent hunger that prompts you to binge or overeat later on
  • Keep your blood sugars level
  • An opportunity to set your day off to a healthy start
  • Got more reasons — comment below! — I like to keep the conversation going. ; )

I was thrilled to have to opportunity to post for LuciOrganics once again. It’s entitled “Yogurt and Fresh Berries — A Healthy Way to Start Your Day!” The other day my kids had a playdate and they loved assembling their parfaits. We even added a little healthy homemade granola for some extra flavor and crunch – recipes by yours truly.

This Yogurt Berry Parfait can be served as a breakfast or a healthy snack or dessert. Personally  I enjoy it for breakfast especially on these warm Los Angeles days (feels like summer here in late January). Check out the post and the recipe here.  See Nutritional analysis below.

Nutritional info. for 4 oz plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt + 1/2 cup berries (equal amounts of blackberries and sliced strawberries) + 1 tsp of strawberry jam. Note: Sugars vary depending on sweetener used. (1 tsp stevia adds no additional sugar). Remember many flavored, sweetened yogurt contain from 25-35 grams of sugars (or more). This one has considerably less sugar with 13g and you know most of it is coming from wholesome foods (NOT added sugars). Check out the recipe at LuciOrganics and ENJOY!
