Going Gypsy Review – If They Can Do It, So Can You

By Livingthedreamrtw @livingdreamrtw

Today is a great day in the literary world, because our friends David and Veronica at the travel blog The GypsyNester have released their first book- Going Gypsy. I was lucky enough to snag a pre-release copy of this book and couldn't put it down.

Having known David and Veronica for quite some time, I knew this book was going to be full of laughs, twists, and turns on every page.

After reading through the book, I am glad to say that I was right.

What is Going Gypsy All About?

Going Gypsy follows David and Veronica's journey after their youngest child graduates high school, moves to a small midwestern town for college, and they find themselves a party of two with a completely empty nest.

Like most couples, they go back to their dream of traveling once all the kids are gone. But rather than buying that boat they always wanted to explore the Caribbean (their old home), they buy an RV and head off to take the USA by storm, because "isn't an RV just a land boat?"

Yes, yes it is.

The book follows their journey around the USA as they see unusual street-side attractions, odd-ball world records (the world's biggest ball of paint on mother's day? why not!), and catch up with friends, family, and old band members they haven't seen in years.

An Inspirational Tale for Empty Nesters

Overall, the thing I love best about this book is that it is an inspirational tale which will get other empty-nesters out exploring the world like they had always dreamed of.

As I'm a childless nearly-thirty-year-old who has already traveled around the world not once, but twice, I may be a bit biased when it comes to the book. I've already traveled, a lot. Unfortunately I know that not everyone was in my position to do it before they had kids, and those who still have that dream often push it off even when the kids are grown and out of the house.

That bothers me.

If you fit that mold and need that last little push to get out and explore the world, Going Gypsy is the book for you. Likewise, if you are a lover of a good travel story full of unusual detours, stresses, and experiences, you won't be disappointed.

I expect you to be planning your trip by the time you finish this one.

Going Gypsy is available today in print for $13.49 and Kindle for $10.49. Click the previous links to go buy your copy on Amazon.
