Glorious West African Chicken and Peanut Soup

By Michelle Jr @abeeandtoe

While I was in the UK last I popped into a shop to get some herbs, naturally I became distracted and I picked up an Enchilada Kit and also some soup that I’ve not seen before.

West African Chicken and Peanut Soup; certainly sounded different, but would be it Glorious! or just Glorious?

To start with this is a pot that will feed two people (even with my generous portions). I did laugh at the ingredients, when it has peanuts in the title, is it really necessary to add a warning on the back as well?

My first thought whilst this was heating up is that it smelt like satay chicken – but seeing as that is chicken and peanuts as well, it’s hardly surprising.

This is a very filling soup, definitely a dinner soup and it is quite frankly delicious with good size chunks of chicken.

Not having eaten anything from West Africa before, I can’t say whether or not it was authentic, it wasn’t overly spicy,  but I would buy it again in a heart beat.

Just be aware of the amount of saturated fat in it…
