It's been a lean summer for art shows in my opinion but before they closed I wanted to see two.
At the Musee de la Poste they're showing two artists I've never heard of before but whose work was wonderful. Albert Gleizes and Jean Metzinger worked together for many years and despite the fact that the title of this exhibit stresses cubisme I found their pointalism and post-impressionist work much more impressive.
Much more ballyhooed and promoted is a show at the Orsay about Misia who is being made out to be a second Kiki of Montparnasse - I thought it was much of nothing.
2 Wows for Gleizes-Metzinger, open til September 22nd.
