That being said, a lot of things are changing in my life at the moment. And that's exactly what I want to talk about: giving yourself room to grow.
Many of you know that I own an online fitness business. I started it back in late 2013/early 2014. It's been such a blessing to watch Glisten Fit expand and help so many women.
In 2015, my heart started shifting and I decided to go back to school to become a speech-language pathologist. Going back to school forced me to reevaluate my priorities and make some changes to reflect those evaluations.
Fast forward and I am JUST NOW implementing what I know I should've a long time ago. I've REALLY stepped back from my online fitness business in the last few months to allow myself room to grow in the field of speech-language pathology.
It was extremely hard for me to "let go" of Glisten Fit. And I still haven't completely let go. I'm still working one-on-one with a few girls each month, but I'm no longer filming full-length workouts, taking selfies after every workout for Instagram, or brainstorming my next e-book program.
I think it took me this long to free myself and allow myself room to grow because I was afraid. Afraid that putting Glisten on the back burner meant that I was a failure or someone who gives up. In reality, though, putting that aside has opened up so much mental space for me. I've given myself the opportunity to explore new passions and take on hobbies that I wouldn't be able to if I was still clinging on. I've started a speech blog to document my grad school journey and even opened a TpT store to sell resources that I've created.
Glisten will always have a special place in my heart, and I'll probably post on the Instagram account every once in a while, but I've finally accepted (and appreciated) the growth that has come from stepping down from it.
Give yourself room to grow, friends 💛
