Give Your Website a Pinterest Flavor with Tint

A couple of weeks ago, I redid all my Internet properties, including my website. One thing I really wanted was to show all my latest articles on the landing page.

If you have followed my career for a while, you know that I have two blogs and write for two online publications. So, featuring all that content on one page requires a little bit of creativity.

I tried changing the default RSS Feed in the new template, but it did not help. It just kept displaying the latest interviews and reviews I had published.

The second option was to embed my RebelMouse Page. I am a huge fan of the service but I do not like the “Featured on RebelMouse” thingy on the left. See below.

So, I decided to do some research to see what I could find. After two days, I came across a fantastic alternative called Tint.

With Tint, you can aggregate content from Facebook Pages, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube, and even RSS feeds, and then embed it on your website and/or blog.

What I like the most about this service is its flexibility. You can personalize your Tint page with a specific theme, background, and font. You can also choose to just display pictures or include titles. And each item comes with sharing buttons to Twitter and Facebook.

Here is a preview of my Tint page on my website. Click on the picture to see everything in “action”.

A neat way to give your website or blog a Pinterest flavor, isn’t it?

The only drawback for me is the slight increase in loading time the embed has created.

The free version of Tint only allows you to create one page with two feeds. If you are willing to pay, you will get a lot more perks, of course. For example, your Tint page will update faster.
