The best place to lend a helping hand is in your community. Find a local food shelter. This is also the perfect time to clean out your closet, donate your older winter coats for a drive and other clothes, shoes, bags and household goods to Goodwill. You can visit a hospital and make holiday cards for patients, as well as the hard-working nurses and doctors. Find out if you can decorate ornaments and tree with the children in a ward at your local hospital with leftover decorations you don’t use {this is actually something I’m working on}. And let’s not forget the elderly too, spend time reading or caroling at a senior center. And if you are truly feeling giving, what better way to bring joy to a home than by adopting a family.
