Give a Frock Friday

Christian Lacroix Haute Couture, Fall/Winter 2003-2004.
Master of color and experimental fabrics, Monsieur Lacroix was awarded "Most Influential Designer" award by the CDFA for foreign designer in 1987.
Inventer of the puff-ball skirt (le pouf), his designs were always very theatrical, referencing much from costume history, folklore and often featuring corsets and hand-woven fabrics.
I would love to own a Lacroix gown one day.  His work has always fascinated me, I think it's his use of color and the frivolity of his fabrics and designs.  Sadly the house of Christian Lacroix went into receivership in 2009, with his Haute Couture line having never turned a profit.
Such is the life of an artist, right?
Have a great weekend!Heidi
