Give a Frock Friday

There’s so much to do these next two weeks as we prepare for our family road-trip south to Adelaide. We decided that it would be more fun to drive across three states to visit family for Christmas than to fly there. As the girls get more fractious as the end of the school year draws closer, I’m beginning to doubt our decision! I’ve been online looking for helpful road trip tips because I have vivid memories of my own road trips as a child, and while fun, there was also a lot of time spent fighting with my brother, hitting, pinching, picking on each other and doing our best to ignore each other while being stuck in the same car together less than a meter apart for hours on end! We had our headphones that we shared so we could listen to music, and eventually I even got my own ‘Walkman’. These days of course it’s a challenge to keep the kids from watching endless DVDs and playing games on their iPads. I have a plan though, which is to stop every two hours, get out of the car, do some yoga, throw a ball around with each other and get the blood moving about the body. That’s the plan anyway. I also plan to do a heap of baking so we have healthy snacks and don’t fill up on petrol station stodgy food and sugary treats. Again, this is my plan. Being on the road though, things are subject to change without notice!

Tonight it’s my first book club meeting since I quit while studying yoga teacher training, I’m so excited I get to be apart of book club again! I love this time of the year. It’s always crazy busy, but I think the Christmas carols in the stores and the twinkle lights everywhere help me get through it.

Have a wonderful weekend, wherever you  are.
