Giraffes Are Back at the San Antonio Zoo

By Michelle Hernandez @Familylovesa
Just a little peek into the newest exhibit at the San Antonio Zoo, the Savanna, which includes the newest additions to the zoo: three articulated giraffes and the Giraffe Feeding Experience.
The giraffes were brought in from the Brownsville Zoo and are all related. A father with his 2 three-year old sons. The boys are not twins, just two different moms, NBD.
Although the feeding experience is accessible, the giraffes will have to be trained to approach the platform. Until the feeding experience begins, the zoo will provide Exhibit Interpreters during busy times to answer questions and provide information in an interactive way.
The Savannah exhibit includes a pool that uses recirculated water in an effort to conserve water and will later incorporate different species of animals, to include a topi, ostrich, cranes, zebras, gazelles, a guineafowl and a Marabou stork.
It's an exciting time to have the giraffes back at the zoo!
