Nov 7- Top 5 Romantic Moments
Aubrey- Luke: Lorelai, this thing we’re doing here me, you I just want you to know I’m in. I am all in. (S5E3)
For a man who’s usually so surly, this moment is just plain beautiful. His emotion is so honest and after waiting 5 seasons, this is where I felt like we finally got the pay off. He’d shown his love in so many ways, all of which I loved, but hearing him voice his feelings after so long was on a whole new level. By far one of my favorite scenes of the series for them
Hannah- Lorelai: What are you doing? Luke: Just stand still. (S4E22)
This whole scene/episode is still an absolute favorite of mine. It still makes me giddy. Luke finally breaks, he finally stops holding in his feelings and he lays it all on the table and it’s wonderful. I love Luke and Lorelai together and this was the start of it!
Lisa- Luke dancing the waltz with Lorelai at Liz’s wedding. (S4E21)
Sairah- When Lorelai unconsciously serenades Luke during karaoke night with I Will Always Love You (S7E20)
This scene gets me in the feels every time. Her heart took over when she saw him walk through the bar and you see her struggle with it slightly but her heart wins the battle. If you pay close attention you’ll see the moment she surrendered to it. No matter where Lorelai is in her life she will always love Luke and this scene proves it.
Cassie- Richard’s speech before his and Emily’s second ‘first dance’ (S5E13)
Richard: Now, most of you know my daughter, Lorelai. When Lorelai was three, she went through a period of having chronic ear infections. It was terrible. Screaming all night long, we couldn’t keep a nanny longer than a week. And so, it fell to Emily to sit with her all night long. She tried everything to calm her down. Finally, she found a song that seemed to soothe her. It was a popular song on the radio and it soon became Emily’s favorite. Of course, it drove me crazy- some woman complaining about how she wanted to marry a man named Bill. Not exactly Cole Porter. Emily would tease me, saying, ‘If only your name was Bill, then this could be our song.’ Well, Emily, for tonight, and tonight only, my name is Bill, and this is our song.
Everyone at Front Row Chat yelled at me for this pick, because FEELS, YO, especially in light of Edward Hermann‘s passing. Even still, this is a beautiful moment and I get teary-eyed every time I watch it. Richard and Emily had some major ups and downs over the course of the series, but this whole wedding reminds me that sometimes, when you meet the right person, nothing can keep you from them.
