All this promise of warmer weather has made me want to whip out the garden furniture and plan a barbecue. I love a bit of ambient lighting and if there’s one thing that signals outdoor entertaining for me, it’s long lines of elegant festooned lights.
It’s no secret that I adore Pinterest, but sometimes it can be downright annoying when you’re constantly faced with images from across the globe of products that you’re not able to get hold of in the UK. Over the past couple of summers I have searched for festoon style lights on the tinterweb and have only managed to find extortionately expensive ones available in England.
So imagine my delight when stocking up on tealights in Ikea the other week when I stumbled across the Solvinden range. Priced at just £12, these solar powered beauties have 16 bulbs so finally I can have my own little festoon in the garden. They’ve probably been around for years but I’ve never seen them before!
I haven’t managed to get out into the garden yet to put them up properly so here they are draped from a tree. I’m looking forward to stringing them over the pergola in the next few weeks.
How’s your garden going?
