Getting Down to Business: 5 REASONS WHY IT'S GOOD TO TAKE A BREAK

By Jollygoodstudio @JollyGoodStudio

You may have noticed that the month of October pretty much slipped this blog by. It also slipped by on the other blog I contribute to, Wardrobe Conversations, and also for Jolly Good as a whole. This is because I was pretty busy with life but also because I was starting to feel uninspired and stuck in a rut. Taking a month away from it all has been rather helpful, if not totally planned, and here's why.
1. Change is as good as a rest, but a rest is always better.During October I had a a full week off from my day job, my first of 2013! I used this time to go on a little holiday with Ross and catch up with friends and family. It was so nice to chill out completely and it definitely gave me a chance to recharge my batteries.
2. Time to refuel.Having some time away from deadlines and demands meant I could do some serious internet browsing. I caught up on the million blog posts that were collecting in my feed and had some fun creating new Pinterest boards. This glut of leisurely browsing now has me brimming with inspiration and ideas.
3. Play time is good time. My little break also allowed me to have some Halloween crafty fun. It was so nice to make stuff just for the hell of it. It worked my creative muscles without the pressure of creating something to sell. All that mattered was that I liked it and that was a refreshing feeling that I plan to carry on.
4. Discover something new.Playing around with fun crafts also encouraged me to try new techniques and different ways of doing things. Working and experimenting with these has already inspired some new Jolly Good products that will be coming soon.
 5. Get back in the game. Having a break from the day to day schedule has helped me to prepare for this period right now, when I am getting back on it. I had a chance to plan some blog posts, sketch some new ideas and generally get a head start on being busy again.
