Get Serious in September

By Marensmorsels @marentweets

It’s Serious September around these parts. (This is the most serious face I could find……)

Why so serious? Clowns are scary and I have no idea why I just made that Joker reference from The Dark Night.

Anyways, September is the time to get serious! Serious kinda rhymes with September. There’s the whole S and S thing… the whole situation is serious! ;-)

Because I’m so serious… (we all know this is not true, but anyways)

I’m getting serious about running that 1/2 marathon, fixing my tummy troubles, and getting my diet under control! Like I said, it’s Serious September.

Getting serious about tummy troubles….

The tummy troubles are getting squashed this month. I’ve decided and I’m putting everything out there. This month I’m

  1. seeing the doctor
  2. facing the embarrassing symptoms I have
  3. changing my diet to fix the tummy troubles (going gluten and dairy free) until the doctor says otherwise
  4. Doing any tests/taking any drugs need be
  5. pushing until I get answers!!!

Getting serious about the 1/2 Marathon

For the last 2 weeks I’ve felt like a 13.1 mile race can’t happen and It’s killing me. Running really aggravates my tummy issues so I’ve been scared to run. Sad. The pity party is over! This month I’m going to

  1. start my training plan despite the potential tummy upset
  2. make adjustments with food/water until I find a mix that doesn’t make my tummy want to kill me.
  3. try working out at different times of the day
  4. Listen to the doctor, if he says no-go then I’m pushing running a half for later

Getting serious about diet

I really think diet is a part of my tummy troubles. I know a medical issue is the main problem but I know what I eat makes things better or worse. Going gluten free for only 7 days has made a huge difference. This month I’m going to

  1. focus on eating light! I need less stress on my tummy
  2. eat no gluten
  3. eat no dairy
  4. eat no fake sugar
  5. eat things that promote tummy and digestive health

Will Serious September be fun? Heck yes it will!

Running=fun

food=fun

answers=relief=feeling better=having more fun

fun. fun. fun!

Tell me about you. I want to know…

Gatorade or Water while working out?

I’m all water all the way (unless I water down the Gatorade, but I still chose water)

Best toenail polish ever?

Coral, because it surprisingly goes with everything.

Which is better, really big cats (ie cheetahs) or dinosaurs?

definitely dinosaurs

Are you getting serious this September? About what?
