Get Rid of Windows XP ASAP, Or You’ll Be Sorry

First of all, you should know that Windows XP will still continue to work even without Microsoft support. Actually, you probably won’t even notice it. Only difference is that you won’t be getting any technical assistance for Windows XP anymore, which includes automatic updates and Microsoft Security Essentials that help protect your PC. In other words, your computer will be more vulnerable to malware than any other operating system in the world.

“Every standard desktop-security risk that a computer faces will be amplified, because there are no fixes being written by Microsoft,” said Scott Kinka, CTO of Evolve IP. “Just assume someone is on your PC while you’re working. Every password, trade secret and bit of personal information is at risk.”

Talking to folks over at Tom’s Guide, Kinka said that once Windows XP support ends, computers running the OS will get hit by “every form of malware possible.”

So, if you’re still feeling too lazy to upgrade your OS or too cheap to buy a new PC, it’s probably a good idea to at least install a Linux OS, just to be on the safe side because you’ll never know what’ll hit you if you keep using this stone age operating system.
