One of the things I love about Dallas, is that you can never be bored - unless you just want to be. From cultural exhibitions to live music, fashion shows to charity galas - Dallas has something for everyone! Here are a few event highlights for the week of February 17, 2013:
You have a couple of chances to catch the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center this week: on Wednesday, February 20, the Dallas Mavericks will take on the Orlando Magic and on Sunday the 24th they’ll attempt to beat the LA Lakers.
The Social Media Club of Dallas will host their monthly networking event on Thursday, February 21 to host an insightful discussion about the different ways businesses are using Pinterest to achieve their marketing goals. You’ll hear from a diverse group of experts about how are they using Pinterest in their online marketing. Learn what makes for an interesting and follow-worthy account and pick up tips and tricks. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. You can purchase them by visiting http://smcdallas.org/event/the-most-pin-teresting-panel-in-the-world/
Grammy Award winning singer--songwriter and pop culture icon, Pink, will perform in Dallas on Friday, February 22nd at American Airlines Center. Tickets are still available at http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0C00492BB4886049?brand=aac
Enjoy food and offerings from neighboring Chicken Scratch, live music from the Tanner Louis Band, and a cold beer and other beverages to help extinguish the heat from the chili. I will be part of a team of judges led by Tim Byres that will award prizes not only for the best chili, but other costumes including team spirit and theme/costume. Guests can also enter a raffle to win one of three luxury prizes. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at http://ytacdallaschili.eventbrite.com/
Later that evening, the Dallas fashion scene will be transformed as 22 talented independent designers take on the runway at The PIN Show. This event will turn the West Dallas warehouse, The Green Warehouse, into a mesmerizing workroom and independent runway. Enjoy the fashion show, designer marketplace, Danny Church Band, and street-style food, all with a view of the Margret Hunt Hill Bridge. Tickets start at $15 and can be purchased at http://www.prekindle.com/promo/id/22680801841954248. The Green Warehouse is located at 2900 Bataan, Dallas, TX 75212.
