Geek Girl - Model Misfit Review

I do love reading but sometimes I find that by the time I get to reading, I'm so tired I will get down one page then be out for the count! I tend to read books that take quite a bit of concentration so when I was asked to review the latest installment from Holly Smale I decided to jump at the chance and try something new.  I'd previously heard of the paperback hit from Smale's that was of course Geek Girl #1 Geek to Chic, but now the new book Geek Girl #2 Model Misfit was ready to hit the shelves, I was interested to find out what all the fuss was about.  The first book takes us on a journey in Harriet Manner's life and after being spotted by a model agency whilst on field trip, main character Harriet Manners is back with her ever so awkward shenanigans.  A big geek and a clumsy model who constantly blurts out a variety of random facts, makes a lot of mistakes, says the wrong things, tries to remain cool and calm... But just can't seem to stand in one place without something embarrassing happen!

In this book we see the relationship with fellow model Nick, which blossomed in the last book suddenly fizzle out when he doesn't return her messages... but why? Harriet cant help but be very confused. Best buddy Nat gets sent off to France for the summer leaving Harriet with no friends, so when she gets offered the opportunity to do some modelling in Tokyo it couldn't come at a better time... Desperate to go as Harriet wants to give modelling her attention in Japan, maybe it will divert her attention from Nick? Or so she hopes... After reading the books I can firstly say that the way Holly has written them makes it very easy to follow, the storyline is witty and its worded in a way that is relatable.   The sequel to the tales of Harriet Manners keeps you intrigued to what choas will happen next and I'd personally say its as good as the last book, if not better...  If you want a fun easy read (perfect for for fashionistas) then grab Geek Girl - Model Misfit.  It's being launched very soon so head to Amazon and get it from there, you can following the author Holly Smale on Twitter and you can even get involved with the conversation on Geek Girl Facebook page.   Have you read the first book?  Will be reading the sequel?
