Christie's, the auction house synonymous with extraordinary treasures invited me to a private viewing of their Spring Magnificent Jewelry collection. Held at their LA office, two security guards stood watch over the dazzling jewelry which includes one of a kind pieces from Harry Winston and Van Cleef & Arpels. I marveled over the emerald earrings and the D-color flawless diamond rings all the while unsuccessfully concocting creative ways to move my money around so I can bid on an item. I concluded I need to do a lot more moving...and shaking. I did have fun trying on some of my favorite pieces and should have created a diversion and made a run for it but blogging about prison fashion would get old rather quickly.
In the evening, I attended the Saks Fifth Avenue x Angeleno Magazine soiree celebrating the launch of Dbar, the new men's denim shop located underneath the men's store. It's an entire floor curated with some of the coolest denim brands in the world. The crowd was a fabulous mix of celebrities, fashion innovators, celebrity chefs, and professional athletes. But I was there to stalk Roy Choi, the food genius behind some of my favorite LA restaurants (A-Frame, Kogi, Sunny Spot, Chego). I wanted his Kogi taco recipe. When I finally tracked him down, I was overcome with sheepish passivity and ended up exchanging small talk. Lame. Next time I won't be so meek. A lovely chat with the stunning Jessica Alba reinforced my girl crush on her. Her skin literally glows! What a climatic and fabulous end to my day in Beverly Hills.
