I wasn’t even sure there were many of these types. But some gay serial killers have also been rapists. Randy Kraft, Jeffrey Dahmer..there have been others. The number of gay male serial killers is not small. In fact, gay male are more likely to be serial killers than straight males. Gay men are only 4% of the population, but they make up a significantly higher percentage of the serial killers. Not that it matters, and it shouldn’t be a club to beat gay men with since, as with straight men, hardly any gay males are serial killers.
The gay male rapist is the rarest kind of serial rapists. Some of them are detailed at the link above. They tend to prey on men indiscriminately, and their targets are typically straight men by the law of averages. That is, they simply target a given out and about, not caring if he is gay or straight. Some gay rapists operate out of gay bars, but I understand that these types are uncommon. Other gay rapists may not even be gay. Indeed, some gay rapes are homophobic attacks on obviously gay men. A predator goes to the gay district with the hope of targeting a “faggot.” The victim is attacked, beaten, robbed and raped. During the attack, homophobic slurs are used.
Obviously a lot of this goes on in the prison system, but most of the men doing that in there are not even gay. Instead it is a crime of opportunity and homosexuality in situational or opportunistic homosexuality. Most men who participate in gay sex in prison stop such activities when they leave. They get out and go right back to women. Sex occurred with men while in prison simply because there were no female outlets, not due to preference.
Stranger rape is often devastating to females, but it may almost be worse for a man because it is homosexual and the male victim may be laughed at, ridiculed and accused of being gay. Many victims of gay rape are so ashamed that they never report the crime to police. A friend of mine was raped by a group of young men on a train when he was 23 years old in a male gang rape. The perpetrators were apparently not gay. 30 years later, he has obviously been damaged by this event. It won’t go into details, but it has shaped his sexuality in some funny ways.
