Hello passenger, you’re no more forced to shut down your electronics, if you take off or land with Delta or JetBlue.

The FAA, The Federal Aviation Administration, starting from today and onwards, sees the use of electronics fit for some airliners from the departure gate all the way to the arrival gate, withoout powering them down. The new manual authorises the flyer to use eReaders, portable gaming devices and DVD players during take-off and landing; though cell phones shall still be left in airplane mode.

Besides that, you are more than welcome to get some work done on a laptop, however it doesn’t mean that you have access to the tray table. Even it doesn’t seem like available to everyone, Wi-Fi use has also been approved. As the changes to Delta and JetBlue are effective some other airlines’ approval will follow.
