Apparently, many artists have recorded songs titled, “Dead Meat” over the years. But it was Sean Lennon’s song of the same name that seemed most appropriate for the episode. Lennon is the son of the Beatles’ John Lennon and he wrote the song after a break up with Bijoux Phillips and it ended up being perfect for True Blood as far as music supervisor Gary Calamar was concerned:

“I’m not sure who came up with Sean Lennon’s ‘Dead Meat’ for this week’s end credit song, but when we listened to it at the spotting session we all agreed it was perfect in tone and lyrics.”

Calamar told Radio.com that Sean is most definitely is own artist but it was thrilling for him to be chosing something related to the Beatles in some way. Another bit of good music in the show comes from Aoife Donovan who Adylin was listening to before she decided to go out for the night:

“I’ve recently become acquainted with [her music] and fell in love with it. ‘Red And White And Blue And Gold’ is a lovely song and really fits the mood of the scene. It’s from her new album, Fossils.”
