Gamaya Legends: Video Game & Toys Inspired from Epics

Being an Indian, I'm of course really proud of Indian epics. Not only because they are so full of wisdom, but also because they are really entertaining. Full of action, adventure, emotion, beauty and heroic figures. No wonder then that books and TV shows inspired from Indian mythology are being so popular.

Tapping on this popularity, Gamaya Inc. has launched video games and connected toys inspired from the Ramayana (I hope Mahabharata game would be coming soon too!). Gamaya Inc is a video game and connected toys startup based in California.

Gamaya Legends by Gamaya Inc. is a combination of real and virtual worlds. It includes video game as well as beautiful toys. These toys, when connected to the gaming console automatically activate the avtars of the epic characters in the 3D video game.

I haven't been able to play the game personally or see the toys. So I won't be able to say anything about how smoothly the videogame plays. Neither would I be able to remark on the build quality of the toys. But I think, the game being heavy on graphics might be a bit hard to play on devices with less resources. And the toys do look magnificent in the images and videos I saw. And seeing them, I definitely now want to play with them!

Elaborating on the launch of Gamaya Legends, Gamaya's Spokesperson commented, "The evolution of the gaming and toys segment was a natural occurrence, considering the discerning demands of kids today. With the tradition of storytelling slowly phasing out, and innumerable gaming gizmos taking over, this is an effort to connect today's kids with their cultural ethos through a medium most preferred by them and one they can instantly relate to. Through a series of story videos to be broadcast on television, to a range of interactive video games using the characters from the great epics, Gamaya seeks to rekindle an interest in these stories."

Gamaya Inc is hoping that the Gamaya Legends toys that are said to have been crafted from premium materials will soon become collector's items just like the Star Wars toys and other memorabilia. These toys can be played with by themselves, of course. But when put on the Gaming Console, they activate the magic of 3D gaming. Besides gaming, Gamaya Legends also has backstories for all the characters. That is, anyone playing the game can also check the backstories to know more about the famous epic Ramayana and its heroes and villains.

The video game can be played on iPhones, iPads and Android devices. It is priced at Rs. 6,249 but is currently available at the promotional price of Rs. 4,999 from http://www.restorethelegend.in/. That's definitely more expensive than usual smartphone games. But for avid gamers and those looking for a suitable gift for their kids, this surely seems like an attractive option. Even I, a non-gamer, am feeling an itch in my hands to check out these beautiful toys and games! Looks like something I'm willing to get addicted to 😀
