We have a full Moon approaching due to complete on 11th April at 07.07 in London, BST in the sign of Libra, the scales. This full Moon occurs at 21.32 Libra and has the Sun in opposition at 21.32 degrees Aries. Full Moons are the completion of a cycle, it is when the point when the reflected light is at it's absolute peak, the whole of the Moon is revealed and in the same manner we often get the culmination of a issue that has been building and building for some period of time. Think of the cycle this way, a seed is sown at the new Moon, this is a time when we begin new ideas and set things up for the future. The Full Moon sees that seed now grown and in full flower and our plans come to fruition, we see the fruits of all our labours. From than point, the flower or plant then begins to die as the energy runs out, the leaves fall and a new seed is formed for the next cycle to begin. In the same way what goes up must come down and as our project lessens in effectiveness, we have to adapt or change to begin a new cycle of growth.
The Libra/Aries axis on any chart highlights issues between the self (Aries) and the relationships we have with others (Libra) and matters concerning relationships may be high on the agenda in the next two or three days as this Full Moon perfects. We will have emotional reactions to situations, especially if you see things as not being fair or just with your partner or with someone close to you. This Full Moon sits next to Jupiter, the planet of expansion and excess and opposes the Sun next to Uranus. This opposition is one where unexpected personal actions (Uranus/Sun) may get an extremely emotional response (Jupiter/Moon). This opposition is squared by Pluto, an agent of transformation and change, so don't expect everything to stay the same, there will be some shift in direction in the light or what happens under this Full Moon.
Now the planets are always moving across the constellations, and the Moon here makes a close connection to the star Heze, in the girdle of the virgin in the constellation of Virgo. Heze doesn't have a lot written about it, but thanks to Roderick Kidston and his excellent book "The Magic of the Stars" I do have something to work on with this star. He says that this star is one of renewal and the presence of Uranus, Jupiter and Pluto acting on this Full Moon certainly resonates with the theme of change. In the best sense of this Full Moon we can open out and get issues in the open, certainly there is no hiding place with Uranus and Jupiter, and Pluto constantly searches for the truth in any situation. He also mentions themes of integration and healing, and maybe your faith (Jupiter) will be tested now to it's fullest extent (Pluto)?
Jupiter is a generally lucky influence and I think that even if this Full Moon brings tears and upset, which it may do, you must have faith that someone or something will be there to catch you as you fall. There is also a sense that if you lose something now, something may soon come along to replace what was lost, restoring the balance of the situation. There is healing available here, but maybe you will have to change direction to find it, or change an attitude and accept that nothing or no-one in life can ever be perfect? Does this resonate with you? Are you reaching a culmination of a situation, the end of the line in something, or with someone? These ideas are going to be tested now.
Mercury is on a turnaround as a day before this Full Moon it stations retrograde and Saturn is only just starting to shift after itself having turned retrograde on the 5th April. These planets changing direction reflect the mood that the tide is now turning, and the rules are changing. Saturn is square to a retrograde Venus conjunct to Chiron making a very painful combination. Relationship matters are again highlighted here too, as our values and financial situations. We are learning lessons about people, and what and who to value and trust, and making judgments in relation to what we are finding out. This Full Moon helps us get the total picture in full technicolour.
Some of those who we thought were whiter than white may let us down, and what we are discovering may burn inside us like a raging inferno. Chiron as much as it brings wounds that we have to deal with also offers healing and a chance to restore and repair our lives too, so look out for the opportunities and the good Samaritans around us who can help us get through the troubles we do face. That is what you have to look for now, the chance to make amends and to find the healing. That help that is on offer if you search for it, as is the chance to either forgive someone and forget, or make those who are testing our resolve face up to their responsibilities and make them face the music. Mars in a trine to Pluto now asking us to act positively, it gives us determination and drive to change tack and get things moving in a better direction and to take on our opponents with gusto and verve. Grasp the nettle and be brave are what Mars and Pluto are telling you, and you can be in the knowledge that lady luck will likely be there to help you out on whatever road you decide to take or whatever you eventually decide to do...
