It’s been announced today that UK producer Fryars will release his album Power on November 14 via Fiction Records / Caroline Australia. The latest single is the summer banger Cool Like Me, stricken with tribal backbeats and a robotic choir leaking behind the vocals. As far as electronic tracks go, Cool Like Me shows the diverse talent of the producer, featuring likeable pop beats, impressive string arrangements and confident lyrics throughout.
Fryars is the musical brainchild of London-based 24 year old Benjamin Garrett, who’s musical prowess has seen him tour with acts as diverse as London Grammar and Wild Beasts. Fun fact; he co-wrote two tracks on Lily Allen’s number one album Sheezus and sometimes plays live with her, most recently a short notice headline performance at Latitude Festival.
Power was written, programmed and sung by Fryars as “a soundtrack to a film that does not exist.” The album’s sixteen tracks are linked together by a script, written specifically for the record.
